Walk 1 from Blue Rose Park

WALK NO 1

START Blue Rose Campsite
DISTANCE 3.7 miles

From the park gates, cross the road and head out on the public footpath that passes between the allotments and the farmhouse. Cross the small bridge that spans the drain, turn right to head along the drain briefly before following the foothpath up through the fields before emerging on the lane outside Heigholme Hall.

Turn right and head along the minor road for about 700 yards and then take the footpath off to the right. Follow the path along the hedge and then as it turns N to eventually emerge on the lane by the side of Villa Farm.

Continue straight on along the lane for about 500 yards and at the T junction turn right heading toward Brandesburton. After around 700 yards take the road on the right that passes alongside a myriad of fishing lakes and ponds. Eventually you will pass the golf course on the left just before the T junction.

Turn right at the T junction and after 350 yards you will be back at Blue Rose.

Walk 2 from Blue Rose Park

From the park gates, cross the road and head out on the public footpath that passes between the allotments and the farmhouse. Cross the small bridge that spans the drain, turn right to head along the drain briefly before following the foothpath up through the fields before emerging on the lane outside Heigholme Hall.

Turn left and head along Heigholme Lane for around ¾ mile to the T junction. Turn left again onto West Street which takes you through Little Leven and eventually back to Leven itself, emerging at the Hare and Hounds pub on the corner. The small triangular walk connecting back to the main road is no longer in use.

Once you get to the Hare & Hounds pub turn left and continue back on the main road path back to Blue Rose.

Walk 3 from Blue Rose Park

DISTANCE 7 miles

From the park gates, cross the road and head out on the public footpath that passes between the allotments and the farmhouse. Cross the small bridge that spans the drain, turn right to head along the drain briefly before following the foothpath up through the fields before emerging on the lane outside Heigholme Hall.

Turn left and head along Heigholme Lane for around ¾ mile to the T junction. Turn right and walk along the track for around 350 yards to reach Hall Garth and continue along the track signposted to the airstrip. Please note the road on the map connecting the airstrip to the canal is no longer in use. This walk will take you to the canal or airstrip only.

Turn left and follow the delightful canal for just over 2 miles back into Leven village where you will emerge at the side of the New Inn. Form here, turn left and follow the road out through the village and back to Blue Rose.

Walk 4 from Blue Rose Park

DISTANCE 9.3 miles

From the park gates, cross the road and head out on the public footpath that passes between the allotments and the farmhouse. Cross the small bridge that spans the drain, turn right to head along the drain briefly before following the foothpath up through the fields before emerging on the lane outside Heigholme Hall.

Turn right and head along the minor road for about 700 yards and then take the footpath off to the right. Follow the path along the hedge and then as it turns N to eventually emerge on the lane by the side of Villa Farm.

Continue straight on along the lane for about 500 yards and at the T junction turn left. Follow this minor as it passes a number of lakes and the water sports centre before crossing the River Hull at Bethells Bridge after 2½ miles. This is the home of the Bethells Bridge Boat Club where a number of private craft are moored. There is a small picnic area and car park at the swing bridge.

To return to Blue Rose simply repeat the route in reverse.
